Shot entirely on a sound stage with screen projections, Saura creates the mood and ambience of Fado, and then introduces a range of solo and group performances.

Fados includes appearances from such musicians as Mariza Camane, Carlos Do Carmo, Chico Buarque, Caetano Veleso, Lila Downs, Toni Garrido and Miguel Poveda.
