HILL NUMBER ONE (1951) [Feature]

USA (MIFF1954,Religious Films)
Director: Arthur Pierson

Hill Number One, a dramatic religious film, was shown nationally on TV in the U.S.A. during Easter Week, 1951 and 1952. It was favourably reviewed: "One of the most nearly perfect performances ever seen on TV, mixing dramatic impact with compelling simplicity . . ." (New York Times) .

Part of the publicity reads: "Weep with Mary, the Mother of Sorrows, at the loot of a denuded Cross. Shudder at the taunts and shouts of Pilate's soldiers. Listen while Joseph of Arimathea pleads for the body of his beloved Lord. Hear the Centurion proclaim Christ truly the son of God. Pray with the Apostles in the Upper Room. Lift up your hearts as you see the tidings of the Resurrection breaking over Judea like the refulgent sun of a glorious Easter morning."
