The Drawings Of Leonardo Da Vinci (1953) [Short]

UK (MIFF1954,New Horizons)
Director: Adrian de Potier

The five hundredth anniversary of the birth of Leonardo da Vinci was celebrated in London by an exhibition held at the Royal Academy. Bound volumes of his anatomical studies, drawings now housed at Windsor Castle, and the Forster notebooks were shown.

p>The film, “The Drawings of Leonardo da Vinci”, is a permanent record of the word of Leonardo which was assembled for that exhibition. By the skilful use of colour, the film has been able to record the differences in line and texture resulting from Leonardo's use of various media.
