African Heritage (1956) [Short]

UK (MIFF1957,Spanning the Globe)

In this anthropological study, we see the East African building his boats in the way that it has been done for centuries. Traditional methods of pottery making, basket weaving and the fashioning of hunting weapons are recorded together with ceremonial dances and folk music. In this way, we are brought into contact with one of the world's oldest cultures - a culture which is gradually being integrated into the civilization of the twentieth century.
