Allegri String Quartet (1960) [Short]

UK (MIFF1962)
Director: Humphrey Burton

Excellent script and photography and incisive editing create a picture of the daily life of one of Britain's leading quartets. The film shows the endless work and rehearsal which lie behind each performance. More subtly it succeeds in capturing the nuances of communication and telepathic understanding which are necessary between the musicians as they perform.
