Dollar Bottom is based on a short story written by James Kennaway, the distinguished Scottish writer noted for the acclaimed Tunes of Glory. This is a gentle and humorous story set in Scotland in 1953 and is centred around the exploits of a young boy. Taylor 2, whose one ambition in life is to become Chairman of Lloyds Of London. His school is supposed to turn out boys with initiative as leaders for tomorrow, but Taylor 2 takes this too far!
