Victorian Tapestry Centre (1979) [Short]

Australia (MIFF1979)
Director: Paul Jansen

Tapestry is one of the richest and oldest of the mural arts. The Victorian Tapestry Workshop was established in 1976 to encourage the art, and to establish a training ground for weavers and artists.

This film documents the transformation of a Roger Kemp painting into a major tapestry, and by so doing, illustrates the complexities and the importance of both the medium and the workshop.
