The Paper Age and Ancient Flight (1992) [Short]

Canada (MIFF1992,Documentary)
Director: Neal Livingston

William Deiches, an amateur Egyptologist, is convinced beyond doubt that the ancients had an elaborate system of aircraft and hand-gliders. The technology was originally developed in ancient Egypt and from there made its way to Turkey, India, China, Japan, Mexico, Peru and Columbia, thus linking all ancient cultures. The film is not about validating or ridiculing Deiches's theories. Instead it is a portrait of one man's quest to make the academic establishment reconsider its assessment of the ancients.
