Is Man Good? (1999) [Short]

France (MIFF2000,Fiction)
Director: Romain Berthomieu

Based on a short story by Moebius, the famed French graphic novelist, this production is a confident, reverent rendering of Moebius' dark and peculiar fascinations. The humour is suitably bleak, as is the inspired production design. Is Man Good? puts paid to the insular, self-actualising logic that a short film, being bereft of a wider audience, should therefore limit its aspirations, scope and vision. It's a gem.
