Lure (first light) (1999) [Short]

New Zealand (MIFF2000,Experimental)
Director: Olivia Lory Kay

Lure (first light) is a film about desire and place where lost love mingles with history. A train motif is used to capture the rattling destabilising rush of progress, symbolising the sense of flux that is inherent in a constant state of desire. The multi-levelled, multi-voiced cacophony is a play on meaning and metaphor, floating above the real, taking the risk of collision. A look at where consciousness will end up residing in the new intermedia talk; no 'where' to go.
