KOSMOS (2009) [feature]
Director: Reha Erdem
“Kosmos is nothing less than cosmic in scope… beautifully shot, and profoundly imaginative.” - Hollywood Reporter
From the sweeping snow-driven plains on the edge of Turkey emerges a mysterious stranger, a fugitive from nowhere, sobbing as he runs into the arms of a city frozen in time. After he saves a child from drowning the townsfolk warm to him, but his strange behaviour paints him as both a thief and a holy man - never sleeping or eating, moving with the agility of a wild animal, he claims to be seeking only love.
Filmmaker Reha Erdem (My Only Sunshine; Times and Winds, MIFF 2007) creates a wintery epic with Kosmos, imbuing his howling dervish with all the intricacies of both man and prophet.
