PAJU (2009) [feature]

South Korea (MIFF2010,Neighbourhood Watch)
Director: Park Chan-ok

A polished mystery story set in a South Korean border town about a man seeking to escape the demons of his past, and the enigmatic women entangled in it.

They say the mist that wraps around the city of Paju is from the soldiers who fell there during the Korean War, but for Joong-shik it's a barrier that stands between him and the women in his life, and a place to hide from past mistakes.

With the long-awaited follow up to her award-winning debut Jealousy Is My Middle Name (MIFF 03), Park Chan-ok weaves together multiple storylines to tell a dark tale of guilt, regret and the inner workings of the female psyche.

Winner of the NETPAC Award at the 2009 Pusan International Film Festival.
